in person and online therapy workshops, professional clinical trainings, & retreat offerings

Our tagline at Kindman & Co. is Therapy for Being Human. Meaning, in part, that we are committed to providing a variety of services that speak to many different facets of humanity and experience. We want to help make our therapeutic offerings more financially accessible and create supplemental services that may address other interests and needs that our community members have, in addition to therapy. We are excited to offer workshops that create new, short-term opportunities for local community members and fellow helping professionals to engage with our relational, social justice informed, and embodied approach to therapy, relationships, emotional wellbeing and community building practices. Stay tuned to this page to learn more about different workshops and retreats that we’re hosting and sign up for our mailing list to receive alerts for future programs. “When our lived experiences of theorizing is fundamentally linked to process of self-recovery, of collective liberation, no gap exists between theory and practice. Indeed, what such experience makes more evident is the bond between the two — that ultimately reciprocal process wherein one enables the other.”

How to be a relational therapist

Three Part Training Series for Therapists, Jan-March 2025

Have you heard about “relational therapy” but found yourself wondering what relational therapy really is and how it may be different from how you already practice? Do you work from a relational therapy approach but feel like you need a refresher to help you feel more confident in your interventions and how you show up in the therapy room?

At Kindman & Co., all therapists on our team practice relational therapy with a social justice lens. Why? Because we really believe in it and know it works! Time and time again we see how being relational in the therapy room dramatically helps our clients improve their relationships and be more authentically themselves. We also find that practicing from relational therapy makes more room for you to be authentically yourself as a therapist which helps to combat burnout and makes for better therapeutic outcomes! After all, the strongest determinant for effective therapy is a secure and supportive therapeutic relationship. We’ve trained a number of therapists in our approach over the years and are thrilled to share our training with therapists outside of our practice for the first time!

Modules will include: Relational Therapy 101 (the basics of relational therapy), Taking a Stance in the Therapy Room, and Therapist as Human First.

This once-a-month training runs for three months from January through March of 2025. Learn more by clicking the button below!

reconnect: inviting embodiment together

This workshop included a Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga movement/practice adapted to different abilities and physical needs as well as an emotion support and process group to help attendees start to integrate their embodied movement experience. The workshop centered around being an invitation for attendees to be in their bodies without judgment and with 3 fabulous facilitators who helped them feel contained, grounded, and engaged in movement on their terms.
